My son Colton and I were going over the Sunday school lesson on Saturday. We were talking about hope, love, and prayer. Out of the blue, Colton told me he was going to pray to God about his fear of the bus, so he will get on the bus. I was shocked! My son has depth perception. He does not like steps, ramps, or porches. So, he will not ride a school bus...I have to take him to school and on his field trips. But I was telling him he is about to be a big boy, and I want him to ride that bus like a big boy. That was his response to me. I told him to talk to God about it everyday, and God will fix it for him. So, yes, Rev. Bell and Sis. T. Stephens...Colton is listening and processing all the information he is receiving about the goodness and capabilities and the power of God. Yolanda Cuyler Children do pay attention

Our Pastor told us one Sunday that God will place your blessings in a most unlikely place at times. I knew this...it has happened for me before. But this past weekend, I was shopping in Wal Mart with my son, and I received a text from someone. Well, I went into panic mode, thinking something had happened. The she called me. I was in a place where I couldn't answer, so she texted me again, "I got a slab of ribs with your name on them." And I'm thinking, "How? I'm broke..." So, I called her and she told me that a fiend of mines had paid for a slab of ribs for Colton and me. I was so surprised and shocked. And to add to the amazement, my friend was in the Wal Mart parking lot delivering the ribs. My Sunday dinner was served. I thought I had a roast in my freezer I was going to cook. Well, guess what? I didn't. So thanks to God and a couple of great friends, Colton and I had us some good ole BBQ ribs on Sunday. Yolanda Cuyler "Amazed"

If you have a Special Needs child, please do understand...that is just what he or she is...special..maybe not to anybody else, but difinetely to you and MOST definitely to God. Never accept what man says...we didn't. And God has not failed us with Colton. He still has a ways to go, but at least while he is getting there, he is happy and loved. I am late with this testimony. But I would like to share with you a milestone in my son's life. My son is developmentally delayed. But he has defied all the odds, thanks be to God. Well, one Sunday, he went to the back to pray with the Junior Choir before they went up to sing. When he came out, my son went into the choir stand with the choir and stayed up there to sing with them the entire service. This is a big step for Colton...he has depth perception, and he is afraid of steps, inclines, or heights. And he is not very fond of large open spaces or loud noises. But God is so good that he has gotten to a point where he is attempting new things and battling his fears. And that makes this Mama feel really good, after all he has been through. I want to thank our First Lady Elaine Bell, Sis. Theresa Stephens, and Sis. Kim Devero...you see, they kept him encouraged the whole time he was up there, with smiles, thumbs up, and lots of love and patience. It was an awesome moment! Proud Mom

You know, it has been a hard couple of weeks. Some things have happened that have shook my spirit to the core! But I still stand...I stand because I have friends I can talk to, friends who are connected to God, so that even when it seems I think my connection is weak, they encourage me to hang on just a little while longer. Sometimes things happen in your life that you just don't understand. And sometimes you understand, but you just don't want to face the truth. I have learned that there is truth in the old saying that "The truth hurts..."
